Statistics: Battle of the Heroes 2008

In 2008, many big-name film heroes returned or debuted on the silver screen, alongside James Bond. Courtesy of www.boxofficemojo.com, I’ve compiled a list of statistics to see how Bond’s box office numbers compare to the numbers of the other heroes…

# 1 – The Dark Knight
Christopher Nolan’s Batman returns to the big-screen and proves to be the top-grossing film of 2008.

All positions ranked according to Worldwide Gross.

As you can see, James Bond wasn’t able to make it out on top in 2008. It’s a bit funny to see how a rebooted Batman character, a nearly 70-years-old Harrison Ford, and a poorly-reviewed Will Smith film can overcome the Bond franchise, which has lasted for almost 50 years.

Perhaps Eon Productions need to take a new approach. We’ll have to see if Peter Morgan helps them out.

    Now this does interest me…

In America Bond came easily number 5, yet Internationally he’s coming 3rd – and has by far the greatest percentage of international gross.

Just confirms he really is the internatonal hero.
